as we all know, i'm mighty proud of violet, the 1975 peugeot u08 i got for nothing, and have probably spent $100 fixing her up. it seems they sold new for about $100, not all that much in '75, but now they sell in near-new condition for well north of $1,000.

violet is nowhere close to original, so even though i think she's better than new, collector value is near zero.

There's a picture around here of my grandpa's slightly used Ford Model T that he bought after coming home from France after WWI. On the back it says, 1916 Model T Mint. $315.00 Sure wish he would have kept it.Wonder what that & the 1877 bike are worth now.

Admin Czar: yes but was gone for 3 weeks & came home to a dove nest with eggs in my bike shop. It's right on top of my tool box too. Dumb birds but it's the safest spot on the property. Totally fenced in & covered. Mama is smarter than most

Admin Czar: A 6 cylinder 1964 Ford Econoline here. That was about as good as it got for room. The inevitable exhaust manifold leak might explain some of the brain damage. But in winter it was easy to pop the "hood" for manual carb choke
