It's an odd feeling to see something kinda personal that was formerly yours. I guess I forgot you traded it away.

violet had a flat, paid the man at the shop to swap out the rear tube and tire which had rot bad. should be good for another couple of years.

well, almost 2 years, anyway. tires are flat. been giving the vortex e-bike all the attention lately so not a big deal but have decided to refresh violet. and realized i dislike presta valves. the adapters i have don't thread on, tires are still good, (700cX23 and 25) so i'm going to swap out the tubes for schraeder-valved 27X1s, which claims to also fit 700c IF i enlarge the holes for the valve stems. likely do that today. i did mount up the rear rack, took some focus but i actually persevered for once and got something done, not normal for me lately.

oops. one of my free plastic tire "irons" broke. so i'll go out and see if i can find a pair in steel. this might actually be a good thing because i like to have 3 tire irons and they seem to only sell them in pairs. i'm planning to go to the local commie bike co-op, which is where i got violet in the first place. here's their page - www.thepedalfactory.org/

the e-bike's front brakes are worn out, so...
will see if i did it right in the morning. got a pair of 27x1 inner tube, which also list as 700cx20-25 but they seem way too big.. so no further progress on violet the peugeot. i can fix the durn things if i can get the right parts.

bought another 3 sets (5 bux each) of tire irons in steel because i broke one of the plastic levers, so now i have nine, three for each bike.
got the 700c/27" wheels squared away, rims drilled for schraeder valves, 27"x1" inner tubes mounted, should work fine, but a PITA to get on. chain needs lubing, and still have to rebuild violet's front caliper. making some progress. very close to having 3 functioning bikes in the house again.
in retrospect, covid19 knocked me down pretty hard, just now recovering and beginning to understand the effects. i may ask for a chest x-ray next dr. visit.
