Really like that shade of blue. If you have any of the fab pics handy, like before & after shots, that would be great. That was a plain jane Mongoose beast, folks, home converted to a full suspension megabeast. Isn't this the one that had the home built suspension fork too, Blown? Another work of at that is.

Let me see if I can dig up some before and after pics. And ya this is the one that had the linkage fork. The fork on it now is a cheapie from Hong Kong. I changed the travel to 165mm and put bigger bolts in it to hold it together better. Its also 3 pounds lighter than the linkage fork...

Thanks for posting those, Blown. Like the new fork but don't think it would work well for me if not going downhill all the time.
I do hit stuff around here that I wish I had a front long travel fork. I have a chinese 100mm going on the Dolo but its just a bottom end model

That fork you ordered is probably the same basic fork I have. If it tops out hard, you can put some rubber washers under the head of the bolts that hold the lower legs on….

Finally got some rubber on it. These are 4.0 tires, and really the biggest the fork will take, but I have room for a 4.8 or bigger in the rear. Maybe if I end up with the other fork, Ill throw some 2XLs on it…

A Masterpiece is reborn! Really like that shade of blue. I can't quite read the lettering on the downtube tho. No blue rim strip to highlight the drilled rims?

Thanks! I thought about a blue rim strip, I even have some. But I want to keep most of it black, so that the frame color pops more. Once I am riding it and I get all the bugs out if it, Ill upgrade some parts to gold anodized... Handlebars, pedals, etc....

Not sure on the PSI, but they are pretty full for street use.
And 49 is decent because last time it was build up it was 54 pounds. I can probably drop 3-4 pounds getting lighter tires... Iff go that route if I end up really liking to ride it.

Even tho it's tall, that fork works surprisingly well. Videos really tell the tale. Like the DMR hubs. Do you ever ride it someplace other than the harsh & rugged back streets of suburban California?

Very cool! Might wanna leave that fork long if you do that very often. I wouldn't do that first bit without full body armor. Ok, prob not at all. I've done similar trails out here on the Deception but not the Dolomite. Guess the fat tires would be an advantage in that terrain although would probably have to walk it up the trail most of the way. Thx for posting the vid.

Its actually strange, but the fat tires sit up on the looser gravel, and you actually have less traction. Now when I ride places like that, I always take my Yeti.

I tried it yesterday on the property with gravel over hard pack - not something I usually hit. Like riding on marbles & really washes out on tight corners.
